My Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) education is enhanced by a degree in Health Science and mathematics. This has enabled me to work as an Advance Personal Trainer for the past 27 years. I am also certified under Dr. Stuart McGill for back rehabilitation and strengthening and mentored by Dr. William Staines professor of Neurology and Anatomy at the University Of Ottawa. This has also allowed me to work with various clients with CES (cauda Equinae syndrome), DDD (Degenerative Disc Disorder), sciatica, scoliosis and other back disorders. I hold various certifications in personal training from the United States and Canada including functional/movement assessments and myofascial stretch.
I worked closely with professional athletes including former NHL Player Justin Papineau, former NFL player Christo Bilukidi, former number one ranked Squash player Sam Cornette and other Canadian high school, college, university, professional athletes and non athletes. I decided to add massage therapy to my skills to further enhance my ability to help current and future clients with massage treatments. With my years of practice and knowledge in anatomy and body physiology, this added education and training is instrumental in helping me further understand my clients needs, treat their bodies and help their body heal itself.
My specialization includes Swedish massage, Deep tissue massage, reduction of adhesions and fascial restrictions as well as Relaxation massage. I also treat TMJ, various client presentations but not limited to back issues, scar tissue restrictions, repetitive strain injury and pre/post pregnancy treatment. My practice is located in Riverside South, central to Manotick, Barrhaven and Findlay Creek.
You will reap the benefits of massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term.
Communication is key. I need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, I will explain the treatment and what you can expect to gain from it.
Massage is a tool to help heal. Whether it's stress, illness or simply to pamper yourself, the benefits of massage can be life changing. I would be honored to take that journey with you.
Deep Tissue Massage reaches deeper layers of muscles. It is used to break down knots and relieve pressure points throughout the body. This massage is beneficial for athletes and those who sit for long periods of time.
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
Destress, reduce tension, relax and calm your senses and internal system through Relaxation Massage. This treatment is offered with options to use natural oils to sooth, warm, and massage your muscles. This allows your body to relax and release tension and stress.
